Dusty and Dec

These beautifully colourful Texas Longhorns make a simply stunning painting. 

I love to paint different breeds of cattle, branching away from the popular to a little less known. The Texas Longhorn was a new breed to me when I painted this piece but I fell in love immediately. Longhorns come in a multitude of colours and patterns and this duo is a perfect example of the remarkable variety. Dusty’s coat is an oil slick of marbled colour. Plus it tells such a relatable story. Dusty’s loving, if slightly exhausted, expression of a new mum, paired with the bright eyed eagerness of Dec, just four days old and experiencing everything for the first time!
